5 Easy Ways to Lose Weight

What things in life are easy? Think about it. You'll find that when you are relaxed and are feeling food, everything is easy. Weight loss is no different.

You are wired for one thing: to FEEL GOOD. We all are. That's what we seek when we eat and drink (as well as other activities...). But every weight loss plan out there only results in misery and deprivation. It's no wonder that they fail.

You might succeed with the plan for a few weeks, or even a few months, but most people "fall off the wagon" eventually. Why? Because we want to feel good, and no weight loss plan allows you to feel good.

Bottom line: Until you learn to relax and enjoy your food and moving your body, weight loss will be hard, not easy. You're fighting your most natural tendency--to feel good.

When you use these 5 steps to their fullest, you will achieve many more wonderful effects than just easy weight loss.

You'll:

* be more relaxed * enjoy life more * have more energy * enjoy your body (and sex!) more

So, here are 5 easy steps to lose weight...with pleasure!

Step 1:

RELAX and SLOW DOWN. Seriously! More and more research is proving that our stress-filled, rush-rush lives are making us fat. You've probably heard of the stress-cortisol-weight gain connection, but it goes far beyond that. I know that relaxing is easier said than done, but it is vital to lasting weight loss (as well as overall health).

Find ways to stay as relaxed as possible throughout your day, especially while you're eating. Deep breathing is a great way to start. It gets you to slow down, and you're able to truly enjoy your food and satisfy your body's needs.

Step 2:

Be a Sensual Eater. No, this doesn't mean having sex while you're eating (although that could be interesting...). I mean learning to use all of your senses while you eat, and while you prepare your food. We have our senses for a reason. Research shows that it is vital for us to experience pleasure and satisfaction while we eat in order to absorb nutrients. Otherwise, we continue eating until we are emotionally and nutritionally satisfied.

There are so many wonderful senses to experience as you eat. The next time you eat--and hopefully you're eating high-quality foods--notice the look, feel, smell, and every nuance of the flavor. Focus only on your food as you eat. That means no TV, reading, or driving while you eat. Don't YOU want more pleasure in your life? Become a Sensual Eater, and you'll bring new pleasures into your life every time you eat.

Step 3:

Move your body! It doesn't really matter HOW you move (especially if you don't move much now), just move-but do things that you ENJOY. For example, I really enjoy dancing. If you do, too, turn on whatever music you like-any music that has a groove-and shake your booty! You can work up a good sweat doing this. If you enjoy it, you're much more likely to stick with it.

Make exercise a sensual experience by noticing your body: the look and feel of your muscles, your breath, the sheen of your sweaty skin. If you have an exercise routine now, do it to music that you love. As you exercise, get into the beat of the music, and move to the beat. If you're exercising outside, notice the sights, sounds, and smells. All of these things will increase your pleasure as you exercise...which means you'll stick with it, and you'll get better results.

Step 4:

(You knew this was coming....) Although I hate the word "diet", a key component to weight loss-and to any degree of health-is what you put into your body. But deprivation diets don't work. It IS possible to lose weight and still eat sinful, luscious meals.

Most people do best with a whole foods diet with minimal grains and sugar. Using this as a guideline, eat foods that give you the most PLEASURE! But it's vital that you focus on high quality foods: fresh, whole, and organic when possible. High quality foods have more intense flavors, more nutrients, and make eating more sensual and enjoyable.

Step 5:

Make every meal a special event. There are very quick, easy ways to do this. For example, treat every meal as you would a special holiday meal. Even if it's just a Wednesday night meal, treat it like it's Thanksgiving. Get that good china out, light up the candles, get flowers on your table. Even put clothes on that "turn you on". I have a sensuously soft robe that I often wear when I cook and eat. It instantly relaxes me and puts me in the mood for a special meal. Eating is a sacred activity. Treat it as such.

These 5 steps are so simple, but so powerful. They will lead to huge changes in the way you eat and enjoy your food--and ultimately, in your weight loss.

So give them a try today. What do you have to lose? You've got everything to GAIN. Follow these steps and you'll:

* be more relaxed * enjoy your food, sex, and LIFE more * absorb more nutrients from your food * increase your metabolism * achieve lasting weight loss with ease and PLEASURE!

Remember, you are wired to FEEL GOOD. Don't fight it! Work with it. Use these guidelines to appease that hard-wired desire for pleasure. Weight loss will suddenly become easy!

Listen, life is too short. It's time to stop feeling deprived, miserable, and uptight. RELAXATION and PLEASURE are key to easy, lasting weight loss. So what are you waiting for?!
